Find
Out How Many Women
Are Teaching Science
At Your
School
|
Dr. Nelson's
report includes information about nearly 150
research universities nationwide. Use
the drop-down screen below to see if information
about your school was included in the study.
Based on data in the "Nelson
Diversity Surveys" Diversity in Science Association,
Norman, OK (2002) . For
complete data sources for each school in
each discipline, see the discipline specific
charts.
If
your school does not appear on this list, you
can still find out how it is doing. Send
a letter asking
your school about the number of women teaching
in the sciences.

Urge
Your School To Do Better
|
Whether you are a student, alumnus/a, faculty
member, parent or other member of the university
community, you can make a difference. Click
below to send a letter to your University President
urging him or her to do more to increase opportunities
for women in the sciences.
You
can also help spread the word and urge others to
act:
|
|
Write to Federal Officials
and
Urge Them to Enforce the
Anti-Discrimination
Laws
|
Federal
agencies that provide funds to universities have
the authority and the obligation to make sure
that schools are not discriminating against women
professors. The
Government Accountability Office found that
they are not doing as much as they need to. Send
them a letter and tell them to do their jobs.
