Organize Other Activities To Address This Issue

There is much more that you can do to address the underrepresentation of women on science faculties.  The options are unlimited!  Here are a few ideas:

  • Run seminars for students;
  • Invite speakers to campus to discuss this topic;
  • Create student organizations (like mentor programs) to provide support systems for female and minority students in the sciences;
  • Organize students, faculty and alumni to visit your university president;
  • Send letters to members of your school’s Board of Trustees;
  • If you have experienced behavior that you think may rise to the level of discrimination, contact the National Women’s Law Center by email at action@nwlc.org for advice.
